Adult Staff

In the Air Cadets we have many type of staff, the main part of the squadron training is carried out by the Civilian Instructors (CI). As a CI. you will be able to instruct cadet in all the subjects and put in as much time in as you can afford to do. You will be asked to attend a course which is run at you local Wing HQ.

All appointments are subject to security clearance. 

The next line in the squadron is the Uniformed Staff this starts at the age of 20 years and consists of Non-Commissioned  and Commissioned Officer, Lets start with the Non-Commissioned Officers they start at the rank of Sergeant, to gain this post you will have to under go an interview held a Wing HQ. and if successful you will then have to attend a course at HQAC training school. To progress to the rank of Flight  Sergeant, you will have to serve a term of 4 years after which the OC may put you forward for promotion and if you are successful you will have to attend another course at HQAC and after another 4 year service and if there is a post available you can be put forward to the Regional HQ for promotion to Adult Warrant Officer.

Now for Commissioned Officer at any time after joining the Adult Staff you may feel you would like to become an Officer and the OC  thinks your training is up to it, he will put you forward for an interview with the Wing Commander and if they think that you will make the grade, you will be put forward for an interview board with the Regional Commandant and if successful you will then have to attend an Officer Course at HQAC if successfully completed you will gain you Commissioning Scroll and you Officers days will start.

All courses must be taken within one year of gaining post.
